Commodity Supplemental Food Program


  • The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) was initiated in Pennsylvania in 2002.  CSFP provides a food package approximately valued at $50 per month to eligible women, children and seniors who are nutritionally at risk.   The approved caseload for CSFP is 14,600.
 
Program Description 
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) improves the health of the following by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods:
  • Low-income pregnant and breastfeeding women
  • New mothers up to one year postpartum
  • Children up to age six
  • Elderly people at least 60 years of age
